Every Member Has a Vote
The General Assembly is the highest authority in MACUDA-America. It consists of ALL registered members in good standing. The General Assembly has the supreme power to make decisions, elect leadership, approve budgets, and amend the constitution.
Elects the National Executive
Votes for all 7 positions in a democratic election process.
Approves the Annual Budget
Financial oversight - every dollar accountable to the membership.
Amends the Constitution
Requires 2/3 majority to change the foundational document.
How the General Assembly Works
Annual Convention
Meets once a year on the first weekend of August, hosted by a different chapter on rotation.
Teleconferences
Holds two additional meetings annually via teleconference to address urgent matters between conventions.
Quorum
A quorum consists of at least one-third of all registered members. Decisions require simple majority unless specified otherwise.
