UNDERSTANDING THE STRUCTURE

Complementary Roles, Not Conflicting Ones

GA — Supreme Authority

The General Assembly is the supreme and final authority. Only the GA has the final word on all matters. The BODs are the second authority after the GA.

BODs — Oversight, Not Control

The BODs supervise and oversee to ensure the goals of the association are respected. “Setting direction and policy” means guiding — not overriding the NE. If the NE chooses East, the BODs do not choose West.

NE — Policy Execution

The National Executive initiates and executes policy. Project proposals flow from the Project Committee → NE → BODs (for oversight and endorsement) → GA (for final sanction).
