Full Report
It is both an honor and a heartfelt joy to stand before you today as the President of MACUDA Ohio. My name is Cletus Ndisang Tamankag, son of Nde Tamankag and Monica Tamankag.
Growing up, I watched my father serve Mankon with commitment and grace. His example ignited in me a passion for community service and a lifelong devotion to our cultural heritage.
When I moved to the United States—specifically to Ohio—I found no MACUDA presence at the time. But like many journeys that begin with a dream, a few of us came together, determined to change that reality.
Today, I am proud to say that I am a founding member of the newly revived MACUDA Ohio, a branch rooted in unity, tradition, and purpose. I bring you warm greetings from the great Buckeye State—Ohio, where the Mankon spirit is alive, thriving, and dancing to the rhythm of our cultural drums.
We proudly wave the flag of Mankon high in the Midwest, ensuring our identity is celebrated and preserved for generations to come. MACUDA Ohio is growing strong and vibrant.
Our membership currently stands at 35 proud Mankon sons and daughters, and we are just getting started. This is more than an organization; this is a family, and a cultural home away from home.
Our core activities include teaching the Mankon language, family nights out, cultural days, and mentorship programs. We are actively planning to acquire land for a multi-purpose community hall, launch annual scholarship funds, partner with local charities, create a Mankon Youth Excellence Program, and establish a MACUDA Ohio Benevolence Fund.
